1. When you talk with someone you have hierarchical relationship
- へええ! (when you surprise)
- わあ、すごい! (When you make a complement)
- いや、そんな… (When you want to deny self-deprecation or modesty they make.)
「ふん!」「なるほど」: These sounds degrading and underestimating to others.
「そうですか↘」: This sound like you don’t have interest.
2. When you talk with friends
- マジで? (when you want to say [really?])
- わあ、すごい! (When you make a complement)
- ええ、よくいうよ (When you want to deny self-deprecation or modesty they make.)
3. Negative expression
- あ~あ、もうやってらんない (I’m fed up. I can’t take this anymore. I don’t want to continue)

- やったー! (when you are happy because of accomplishment)
